RAK Client WiFi Setup
Follow these steps to configure the RAK router as a WiFi client.
1. Power On and Connect
Power on the router and wait for the LED to pulse blue/green (approx. 30s to 1min).
On your PC, check the list of available Wi-Fi networks:
A password is required to connect. Most routers use the default password:
2. Access the Router Console

If you see a “Connection Not Private” warning:
At the login screen, use the same password found in the location sheet.
3. Enable Client WiFi Mode
In the router console, navigate to Network on the left-hand menu.
Click the WAN tab.
Open the Wi-Fi dropdown and click Settings.
> ⚠️ **Note:** During these steps, you may get disconnected multiple times. If the page doesn't load, make sure you’re still connected to the router’s network.
Toggle the Wi-Fi Enabled switch.
The router will restart to apply the changes.
Reconnect to the router and return to the Wi-Fi settings (refresh the page if necessary).
Enter the Wi-Fi credentials for the target network and click Save.
4. Verify Connectivity
Once connected, verify that the router is communicating with Amazon or Loriot.
5. Troubleshooting
RAK Not Showing in Wi-Fi List
This may indicate that Wi-Fi access is disabled on the device. Try the following steps to connect:
Connect a
LAN cable directly between the router and a PC.
Power on the router.
Calculate the fallback IP using the router's MAC address.
Calculate the Fallback IP
Example: If the MAC address is `AC1F09140F01`:
Take the last two hex digits: `0F` and `01`
Convert them to decimal using Windows calculator:
`0F` → 15
`01` → 1
Construct the fallback IP as: 169.254.15.1
Use this IP in the browser to access the router console:

enable LAN WiFi so the device appears again in the Wi-Fi list.
